Rapid City Homeowners Can Save Money Through City-Approved Program

RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – Next week, many Rapid City homeowners will receive letters about a city-approved program that could save them thousands of dollars in unexpected home repairs.

The letters are sent by Service Line Warranties of America and provide information about affordable repair coverage for interior plumbing and drainage systems, exterior sewer lines, and exterior water service lines.

With all the ongoing fraud, city officials stress that the letters are legitimate and say the plan offers protection against unexpected repair costs, as they are typically not covered by basic home or city insurance.

The city partnered with Service Line Warranties of America in 2018.

Since then, more than 1,000 Rapid City homeowners have signed up, saving them nearly $900,000 in repairs.

“The last thing you want is to come home and find that one of those lines is leaking, and now you’re responsible for thousands of dollars in repairs. A product like this is an easy way to ensure that if and when this happens, you have support, coverage, they will send someone to take care of it right away,” said Shannon Truax, Rapid City Public Works Administration Manager. .
