Dispersal order in central Leicester following fireworks incident

The force said officers displayed threatening and aggressive behavior last weekend while fireworks were set off near the entrance to a student housing unit.

Three people were also arrested and have since been released on bail pending further investigations.

Inspector Ryan Ludlam, from Leicestershire Police, said: “Discharging fireworks in the street is not only a criminal offence, but it is also extremely dangerous and can cause serious injury.

“We urge anyone considering engaging in this activity, or any other form of anti-social behaviour, to consider the possible consequences.”

The notice covers the areas within Vaughan Way, St Margaret’s Way, Tigers Way, Oxford Street, Bath Lane and Highcross Street.
