What did the technician witness live?

Speaking to The Times of India, Pandey said, “While working from home on Tuesday, I went out to do some personal things and came home soaking wet. I went to the balcony of my apartment to dry my towel and it was at that moment that I saw the building collapse in a few minutes. The look will forever remain in my mind.”

Pandey explained to the publication how the collapse occurred. “There was no massive sound when it initially tilted and collapsed to the ground. Within seconds, the building collapsed and there was dust all over the area. When I went back to the CCTV footage, what I witnessed was more frightening,” he added.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Pandey was the one who alerted the BBMP, police and local MLA about the incident. “I immediately appealed to the civic authorities and the local MLA to inform them about the incident. In the morning, I noticed some workers working inside the building. I assumed that at least 3 or 4 people might be inside the building, but I was told that more than 15 people were inside the building,” he further told the publication.

Pandey also said that he was unable to sleep that night as the frightening images left him shocked, along with the ongoing chaos surrounding the incident. A total of eight people died in the incident and the rest who were trapped under the rubble were rescued.

Both the building’s owner and contractor were arrested. “The owner, Bhuvan Reddy, was arrested and the contractor Muniyappa, responsible for constructing four floors of the building, was taken into custody. We are investigating to determine whether any violation occurred during its construction,” said a police officer.
