Cancellation of registration if donations are received in schools: DC Belagavi warns

Donations of any nature cannot be accepted for the admission of children to unaided or aided schools in the district. Belagavi DC Nitesh Patil has issued a warning that strict action will be taken against schools that accept donations illegally.

With the admissions process already underway for the current academic year, there have been public complaints about some schools accepting donations. Access should only be provided on the basis of tariffs set by the government in accordance with the rules. If donations are received illegally, steps will be taken to cancel the registration of such schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, DC Patil said.

Note to view admission fee information

DC Patil emphasized that every school should clearly display the admission fee information on its notice board for the benefit of parents and the public. As per Section 2(b) of the Right to Education Act, 2009, all private schools are required to publish the notified fees on their school website, notice board and on the departmental Internet system (SATS) to ensure transparency for parents and the public. . This measure aims to eliminate confusion about the admission process by providing clear information on fees.

Possibility of public complaints

DC Belagavi Nitesh Patil encouraged the public to immediately report any school in the district that asks for or accepts donations. Complaints can be lodged with the office of the District Collector or the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI). Based on these complaints, appropriate action will be taken against the schools concerned, he assured.
