Silent Hill announcements coming this week, according to Konami

Although the silent Hill The series made its comeback, but it was not as triumphant as many hoped. That said, there are still a few games in the series, as well as a new movie, to look forward to, with announcements coming this week.

When will the Silent Hill 2 remake be released?

In a recent article on X, Konami invites Silent Hill fans to discover the Transmission showcase which will take place on May 30. You can watch it live on the game’s official YouTube channel, where it will begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.

What exactly will be shown during the presentation cannot be said in detail. All Konami tells us is that the publisher will share “game updates, a deeper look at the movie, and new merchandise.”

There are currently a number of new entries in the series that are still in development, including Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall. Along with this year’s A Short Message and last year’s interactive experience Ascension, these releases represent a new era for the long-dormant horror franchise. Unfortunately, the last two installments were not well received, with the last one being lambasted for its excessive use of monetization.

Of course, the one thing that will be on everyone’s lips is whether we will finally get a release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake. Speculation has been rife about when it will likely launch and, although the official page from Steam doesn’t have a release window yet, it has been suggested that it could arrive this year.

The remake is being developed by Bloober Team, a studio known for its visually impressive horror games. However, some have expressed concerns about the team’s vision for SH2, especially since previous titles like The Medium have been criticized for their poor depiction of mental health issues.

That aside, fans of silent Hill will be very attentive to the Transmission event which will take place this Thursday.
