18-wheeler catches fire on Pharr Highway, delays expected

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Road closures are underway in Pharr after an 18-wheeler caught fire, according to the city of Pharr.

Firefighters are on scene at 1610 W. IH-2 eastbound to extinguish the fire.

Officials say the eastbound highway and frontage lanes are currently closed. The city encourages motorists to detour onto Jackson Road.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
