Tony Khan Reportedly Disappointed With Warner Bros. Discovery Offer

Tony Khan reportedly feels disappointed by what is currently on offer, despite his bravery in the media with a recent quote regarding AEW’s television rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, which expires at the end of this year.

As PWMania.com previously reported, the two parties have reportedly not yet reached a new agreement, but AEW and WBD still have an exclusivity window until the summer. If a deal is reached, it will likely be announced sometime in the summer or fall. In a recent interview, Khan said people should have confidence that a deal will be reached.

While everyone is discussing the possibility of WBD losing the rights to the next NBA deal, WBD CEO and President David Zaslav will focus on the company’s other content properties, including AEW.

Matt Belloni of Puck News reports that “Zaslav and TNT Sports head Luis Silberwasser would like to keep the five hours of AEW programming per week on TNT and TBS” with Dynamite, Rampage and Collision.

Belloni wrote: “But time is running out. I’m told the exclusive window closes in July, and AEW leader Tony Khan is said to be disappointed with the offer currently on the table.

Khan said at the Double or Nothing press conference on Sunday evening that he enjoyed working for Mr. David Zaslav and hopes to do so for a long time. If WBD doesn’t get the NBA rights, AEW will get more leverage in hopes of receiving more money.
