Michigan predicted it would make a ‘significant’ turnaround, which could impact Bryce Underwood’s decision

With the initial signing period starting in a month, Michigan continues to make a big splash on some of the top recruits in the class of 2025. But a lot of the attention lately has been on the nation’s No. 1 player, quarterback Bryce Underwood. With reports that the Wolverines are willing to donate more than $5 million to land the elite QB prospect, excitement is building that Michigan could pull off perhaps one of the biggest recruiting wins in program history.

But landing a big fish like Underwood takes more than just money. Michigan will have to show they are willing to put the right pieces in place on both sides of the ball. It appears the Wolverines are taking a big step in the right direction with the recruitment of current Pitt commit Elijah Dotson. The four-star safety — and current teammate of Bryce Underwood — has been committed to Pitt since May, but it appears Michigan is now the favorite to eventually land the Belleville prospect.

To be clear, landing a guy like Dotson in Michigan is a big deal regardless of whether Underwood decides to transfer from LSU to Michigan. But the fact that his high school teammate would choose to stay home in Ann Arbor would obviously be another major selling point for the Wolverines as they try to land their quarterback of the future in the class of 2025.
