Memmingen | Circus Charles Knie pitches its tents – a small circus town is created – new-facts.eu

The Charles Knie Circus has developed significantly in recent years and has focused on modern, innovative concepts in order to keep pace with changes in the circus industry. Traditionally known as a classic family circus, the circus has made many changes to cater to both traditional circus fans and new audiences.

Now he has also arrived in the free district town of Memmingen. 40 semi-trailers, trucks, forklifts and caravans traveled to the festival site in the New World in the last few days. Almost 90 employees are on duty so that the circus city can open its gates in Memmingen for the first time in two years on Friday afternoon, October 25th, 2024. The poles, the supporting columns of the circus tent, were put in place at the beginning of the week. After the performance on the evening in Kaufbeuren, everything was dismantled and transported to Memmingen. Work began on Wednesday morning to put up the main tent and awning again. The construction of a logistical masterpiece. Everything is optimally loaded onto the trailer, the material is stored in boxes and racks. The forklift drivers know exactly where which box or rack needs to be located so that assembly goes smoothly.

On Thursday morning, the 1,250 seats in the large circus tent are already installed, and the aerial acrobatics are hanging at the top of the tent. Light and sound system installed. Now the water element is installed in the pipe. 100,000 liters of water, which are catapulted up to 15 meters into the circus dome, play a central role. Over 40 TOP international artists, dancers, singers and comedians celebrate life and a real circus party with the audience, either on a planned beach or diving into the depths of the sea.

The water show at the Charles Knie circus is a special highlight that is combined with impressive water and light effects. The ring is transformed into a water stage on which artists perform spectacular performances. Typical elements of the water show are:

Water acrobatics: Acrobats show off their skills above the water, for example on trapezes or cloths hanging from the circus dome. The performances are made even more impressive by the reflection and play of light in the water.

Fountains and light effects: The water show is accompanied by colorful fountains and lighting effects that are synchronized to the music. This combination of water, light and music creates a magical atmosphere.

Water features and special effects: Special effects such as water mist or dancing water fountains are often used, which give the show an additional visual dimension.

Artistry over the water: Some artists perform their numbers directly over or even in water. This can include juggling, dancing or acrobatic jumps where the water becomes part of the performance.

The water show is a relatively new element in the Charles Knie circus, which was put together during the Corona period. It offers a modern complement to classic circus art. Aimed at an audience looking for innovative and spectacular performances, it sets the circus apart from traditional performances.
