Frankfurt/Main (dts news agency) – After an already friendly start, the Dax remained in the green until midday on Thursday. At around 12:30 p.m. the index was calculated at around 19,495 points, which corresponds to an increase of 0.6 percent compared to the official trading day. At the top of the price list were Volkswagen, Porsche and Beiersdorf, and at the bottom were Deutsche Bank, Symrise and Merck.

“German car stocks in particular can benefit from Tesla’s good quarterly figures,” said market expert Andreas Lipkow.

The only question that arises is to what extent the data and the outlook can be transferred to German car manufacturers. “The topic of robotaxis in particular is not on the horizon for many German automotive companies,” says Lipkow.

The European common currency was slightly stronger on Thursday afternoon: one euro cost 1.0802 US dollars, one dollar was therefore available for 0.9258 euros.

Meanwhile, the price of oil rose sharply: a barrel of North Sea Brent cost 76.48 US dollars at around 12 p.m. German time; that was 2.0 percent more than at the end of the official trading day.
