Life Ready Center hosts 90 students for the LPS leadership conference

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Ninety students from LPS high schools made their way to the Life Ready Center for a district leadership conference.

The students included students from leadership classes as well as student councils.

During the conference, they were able to hear from school officials and discuss how they could improve their experiences throughout Lawton.

Some students enjoyed being able to discuss with their fellow leaders from other schools and learn about what they are doing with their respective students.

“For me, leadership is not about the title or about myself, it’s about serving others and serving leadership,” said Caytlyn Sparks, student body president at Lawton High School. “And I think me coming here today kind of proves what leadership means to me and I get to work with different presidents from other schools and other officials from other schools and learn what they’re doing at their schools and that just means a lot to me.”

After the conference, students then headed to Elmer Thomas Park for a joint service project.
