Jennifer Lopez canceled her summer tour

Jennifer Lopez canceled her summer concert tour less than a month before her tour was set to begin. THE It’s me… Live Tour was scheduled to launch on June 26 in Orlando, but Live Nation announced today that it had been canceled entirely, saying: “Jennifer takes time to be with her children, family and close friends.

In a statement on the Jlo newsletter, Lopez said: “I am completely heartbroken and devastated that I let you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t think it was absolutely necessary. I promise I’ll make it up to you and we’ll all be together again. I love you all so much. Till next time…Live Nation says fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded, but those who purchased through third-party resale sites, such as SeatGeek, StubHub, VividSeats, etc., will need to contact the point of purchase for more details.

The tour was scheduled to stretch across the United States, with a brief stop in Canada on its way to Toronto and Montreal, but a handful of those dates had already been canceled as reports indicated that ticket sales were poor. There is also speculation that rumors of marital problems between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have contributed to the cancellation.

Although Lopez won’t be seen on tour this summer, she has a brand new sci-fi movie on Netflix. Atlas premiered on the streaming service last week and finds Lopez playing a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence who joins a mission to capture a robot renegade with whom she shares a mysterious past. Unfortunately, the film didn’t receive the best reviews and our own Alex Maidy wasn’t impressed. “Atlas is a special effects-laden foray into the most clichéd sci-fi genre offering I’ve seen in a long time,“, Maidy wrote. “With what is supposed to be a breaking news story about artificial intelligence, Atlas throws out all the tropes of the last fifty years of sci-fi films as it aims to be Netflix’s attempt at a summer tentpole picture. Disappointing in every way, Atlas is a directionless, limp mess that wastes the talents of everyone involved.» You can check out the rest of Maidy’s review here.
