Local law enforcement officers are on alert on Election Day in Scott, Rock Island counties

QUAD CITIES, Iowa/Ill. (KWQC) – Local law enforcement will increase their presence on Election Day in the Quad Cities.

Scott County Sheriff Tim Lane said the office is calling in reserve officers to assist. Delegates will go to multiple polling stations throughout the day to ensure there are no problems.

When voting is over, backup delegates will transport the ballots from the polling places to the auditor’s office.

Lane said it’s important for delegates to be prepared for anything on Election Day.

“It’s just really important, I think, for peace of mind that we’re prepared for Election Day, and to make sure that if something were to happen in Scott County, we’re prepared.”
