LIFELINE Blood Services Announces “Give for Graham” Blood Drive – WNWS Radio

JACKSON, TN – LIFELINE Blood Services will host a birthday-themed blood drive on June 3rd until June 8th in honor of Graham Simpson.

Graham Simpson, son of Beth Ann and Adam Simpson, suffered from a rare disease called ITP or immune thrombocytopenia. This led to him needing platelet infusions when he was just two months old.

Graham will celebrate his 7th birthdayth anniversary this June 8, and LIFELINE invites the public to come offer the gift of life in Graham’s honor throughout the week.

LIFELINE hopes this campaign will encourage others to donate for patients like Graham. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood or platelets. LIFELINE aims to meet these needs in West Tennessee.

Each donor aged 18 and over will also have the opportunity to participate in the 6th annual car contest sponsored by Joe Mahan Ford! All eligible donors will be entered to win the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport! Additionally, all donors will be entered to win 4 passes to Soaky Mountain Water Park in Sevierville, Tennessee.

“Receiving donated blood and platelets saved Graham’s life and gave his body the time and ability to heal. He is now healthy and will soon be 7 years old. Help us celebrate his birthday by making a donation the week of June 3 to 8 to LIFELINE! » » shares Beth Ann Simpson.

LIFELINE is located at 183 Sterling Farms Drive, Jackson, Tennessee 38305.

LIFELINE provides blood transfusion services to 21 counties in West Tennessee, including 17 hospitals and 21 helicopter emergency service sites and 1 ground ambulance service.

Each year, the Center collects approximately 26,000 blood products (units of red blood cells, platelets, plasma, etc.) to meet the needs of patients. Of that total, 75% of these products are typically collected at blood drives in West Tennessee.

LIFELINE also provides reference laboratory and cross-matching services to healthcare facilities. For more information, visit lifelinebloodserv.org.
