DDB Group announces new CEO for Melbourne as its growth trajectory continues

In the elevated role, Mike Napolitano will continue to be responsible for leading the DDB Group in Melbourne, including the DDB, Tribal, Rapp and Mango brands.

His promotion follows this month’s appointment of Khia Croy as DDB Melbourne’s new managing director, as the agency continues to enjoy strong growth among new clients.

Napolitano has over 23 years of experience in brand and marketing communications and joined DDB Melbourne in 2020 as Group Managing Director. Prior to DDB, he was Managing Director of TBWA Melbourne and also held senior management roles at George Patterson Y&R.

During his time at DDB Melbourne Group, Mike led a transformation of the agency and the refocusing of the business on a strong creative agenda. This resulted in new clients including Coles, New Balance, Dulux, Movember and several government accounts. It has also attracted top talent like Group Executive Creative Director Psembi Kinstan, Head of Planning Matt Pearce, DDB Group Head Ella Ward, and Chief Operating Officer Tristan Alexander as part of the leadership team of the agency.

Andrew Little said: “Having spent a large part of my career at DDB Melbourne, I am incredibly proud of Mike and the entire team for what they have achieved over recent years. Mike is a brilliant leader who not only manages the Melbourne Group businesses but contributes significantly to our other leaders and businesses in the region. This is a very popular and well-deserved decision.

Commenting on his promotion, Mike said: “It is a great privilege to lead this incredible team in Melbourne. We have all worked hard to make the experience of being here at DDB Group Melbourne one of the best in the industry and that holds true for our employees and our customers. There is still so much potential in our team and I am excited and committed to working with the extremely talented leadership group to grow people’s careers and grow our clients’ brands through the creative power of our company. I truly have one of the best jobs in the industry.

Mike Napolitano will report to Andrew Little and his appointment is effective immediately.
