Telangana Another incident of temple vandalism in Shamshabad sparks outrage Police start investigation

Shamshabad News: The miscreants allegedly damaged several statues at a temple in Shamshabad Airport Colony, Telangana, leading Cyberabad Police to launch an investigation on Tuesday morning. The incident was discovered by the temple priest, who noticed the idols, including the Navagrahas, being desecrated for morning prayers upon his arrival. Reports indicate that the attackers entered the temple premises by opening the gate and used stones to damage the idols.

B Rajesh, DCP, Shamshabad said, “The property of Hanuman Temple in Airport Colony has been damaged, so we have deployed our crime team… local police have reached the spot. According to the people here, an unknown person came here and it damaged building. We have taken him into custody. We are also talking to the temple committee members about the restoration (of the damaged building).

Reacting to the incident, Telangana BJP told In an attempt to appease their vote bank, the Congress government has turned a blind eye and refused. By punishing those who desecrated our holy temples in previous incidents, they have only emboldened these hate-filled attackers, who now face even greater impunity act.”

“To defend against such attacks and divert public attention, Congress recently mandated the appointment of Social Media Coordinators to Temple Trusts,” the report said.

He noted, “Rahul Gandhi, who is visiting Hyderabad today, should address these temple attacks and clarify his position on religious violence. The government’s inability to prevent these incidents has encouraged further acts of vandalism.” He also called for strict action against what he described as “Islamic fanatics” involved in such attacks.
