PIKEVILLE WOMAN ARRESTED WITH DRUGS AND STOLEN GUN DURING TRAFFIC STOP

WTVC Channel 9 Chattanooga – A Pikeville woman was arrested Saturday in Collegedale after police found drugs and a stolen gun in her car.

Collegedale police said Laura Kate Peterson, 23, was arrested for reckless driving in a construction zone on Apison Pike.

After getting Peterson out of the car, a police officer said he smelled marijuana.

Peterson confirmed to the officer that there was marijuana in the car.

Officers say they took marijuana, heroin, 1.5 pounds of methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia and two firearms from his car.

Police said one of the guns was confirmed stolen from Knox County.

Peterson was charged with criminal possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, criminal possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, use of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of the stolen weapon and driving a car. while in possession of methamphetamines.
