DU employees hold protest rally to demand cancellation of pension scheme

Officials and employees of Dhaka University on Tuesday observed work abstention for two hours and held a protest rally demanding cancellation of the Finance Ministry’s advisory on the new universal pension scheme ‘Pratsay’.

The protest rally, chaired by Dhaka University Officers’ Association president Abdul Motaleb, was held at the mall opposite the AU administrative building.

The Dhaka University Officers’ and Employees’ Union Council urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to immediately revoke the notification and address the frustration and discontent created among the university’s teachers, officers and employees.

Dhaka University Officers’ Association president Abdul Motaleb said they will come up with stricter programs if their demands are not met before Eid-ul-Azha.
