Windy with rain late in the day

Windy with rain late in the day

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Thanks to the strong winds that last all day, we decided to take a First warning weather day!

Winds may exceed 55 km/h at times on election day and the afternoon will remain mostly cloudy. Be sure to secure all loose documents and be prepared for windy weather when lining up at the polls. Most of the rain will hold off until this evening and the chance of showers and storms will remain throughout the night. Record high temperatures will be threatened today and there is a good chance we will beat the current record of 73° set in 2015.

From Wednesday it will feel a lot cooler and less windy. Cooler air will continue, with highs remaining in the 60s through Sunday. It looks like there won’t be any rain in the forecast until the weekend.

Another weather maker will pass through on Sunday, bringing some localized showers and windy conditions. Veterans Day will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine, with highs dropping into the upper 50s.

Today: Windy, some isolated showers during the day, and warm; High 75; Wind S ~ 20, G 40-45

This evening: Showers, windy; Low 50; Wind W 10-15, G 30
