University tuition fees will increase to €9,535 next year, what does that mean for you?

University fees in England will rise to £9,535 a year next year, the government has announced. This is an increase of 3.1% on current levels, equating to £285 per year. Before this announcement, fees had been frozen at £9,250 since 2017.

The government says the move will strengthen universities’ financial stability after seven years of no increases, despite a period of high figures inflation. It comes after universities warned they are at risk of financial problems.
