Fiat presented its latest product, the 500th Inspired By Los Angeles. This is a not-so-special special edition that will set you back $36,000 before the $1,595 destination charge.

The new trim edition features a few unique touches, including an exclusive Marine Layer Mist paint job. Its silvery hue “is named for the southern California coastal marine layer that results from the interaction of air masses of different temperatures and densities, a natural phenomenon from May to June that gives the City of Angels an atmospheric magical and complex.

Besides the special paint job, the LA edition gets matte gray mirror caps and black window trim. They are joined by 17-inch alloy wheels, which can be wrapped in summer tires or all-season tires.

Inside, we find a two-tone interior with beige eco-leather seats and a “soft-touch” steering wheel. Buyers will also find body-color trim and a seven-speaker JBL audio system with subwoofer.

They should be joined by a wireless smartphone charger, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Fiat also said the model comes standard with a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system that combines adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.

Like previous 500e products, the Inspired By Los Angeles has a 42 kWh battery that powers an electric motor developing 117 hp (87 kW / 119 hp) and 162 lb-ft (219 Nm) of torque. This setup allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) in 8.5 seconds, reach an estimated top speed of 94 mph (151 km/h), and travel up to 149 miles (240 km) on a single charge.

The electric vehicle will arrive in US dealerships in the third quarter and will become the fourth product overall.
