Detroit man charged with assault in Livonia pool hall shooting, bond set at million

LIVONIA, MI – A man accused of shooting two men in a Livonia pool hall has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder. According to the Livonia Police Department, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged 25-year-old Kamari Parham of Detroit in connection with the shooting that occurred at Snookers’ Pool & Pub at 27630 Schoolcraft.

Parham is accused of shooting a 36-year-old man and a 31-year-old man – both from Detroit – who were arguing with each other before Parham pulled out a gun and fired, striking both victims. Police were called to the bar around 1:20 a.m. Sunday and found one of the victims near the main entrance with a gunshot wound to the back. While on scene, police received another call that the other victim was at the nearby Holiday Inn with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Both victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, police said, while Parham was arrested without further incident at the pool hall.

Parham was arraigned in 16th District Court on assault and other related charges, but LPD did not disclose the additional charges. Bond was set at $1 million cash and Parham is due back in court on November 14 for a preliminary exam.
