New gameplay trailer released for STALKER/Metro-inspired first-person action MMORPG, PIONER

GFA Games has released a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming first-person action MMORPG, heavily inspired by the STALKER and Metro games.

In PIONER, your main objective is survival and exploration of a dangerous PVE and PVP world. According to the game’s description, the developers will pay special attention to the events, factions and quests that players will participate in.

Players will be able to team up with other adventurers and act as a group. As such, they will be able to explore anomalies, face hunters from other factions and carry out special missions. Additionally, players will be able to build outposts, upgrade equipment, and establish trade routes.

In December 2023, GFA Games claimed that Starting Zone would be an adventure game with minimal MMO elements. However, this part was removed from the game’s description on its official website. So yeah, this doesn’t bode well for SP fans.

PIONER promises to have over 50 crafting quests and elaborate stories. Some of them may contain difficult moral dilemmas or choices that affect the outcome of the quest. Additionally, players will be able to build outposts, upgrade equipment, and establish trade routes.

To be honest, I’m a little disappointed by this change. Initially, PIONER promised a great experience for fans of single and multiplayer. However, as of now, it appears that the game’s focus is now on online play.

This kinda sucks because I really like the aesthetic and graphics of PIONER. From what I know, the game will be powered by Unreal Engine 4. And even though it’s been three years since we first saw it, it still looks great.

Finally, there is still no ETA on the game’s release.

Appreciate!
