Elon Musk announces the final winner of the $1 million giveaway

(CNN) – Elon Musk’s pro-Trump Super PAC awarded its latest $1 million prize to a registered voter in Michigan.

It ends the daily lottery, which has attracted legal scrutiny at both the federal and state levels.

The political group, called America PAC, announced its eventual winner on Tuesday, a day after a Pennsylvania judge refused to halt the lottery.

The Philadelphia district attorney had filed a civil lawsuit to shut down the lottery, claiming it violated state gambling laws.

The super PAC created a right-wing petition for registered voters to sign to qualify for the lottery.

The pro-Trump group awarded $18 million to 18 registered voters in battleground states.

The Justice Department had warned that the program could violate federal vote-buying laws.

An attorney for America PAC said the winners were not chosen at random and were hand-selected based on their personal stories. They also signed a contract as spokespersons for the organization.
