Parson activates emergency operations after flooding leaves five dead in Missouri

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Missouri Governor Mike Parson has activated emergency operations after storms and flooding killed five people.

Flooding hit Missouri hard Monday and Tuesday, with some areas receiving up to 8 inches of rain.

Two people were found dead near the South County-South City border, after the flood waters receded, there were two election workers wiped out by flooding in southwestern Missouri and a man died after his car was swept away in Iron County.

Polling stations are closed due to the flooding.
