A Place in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton reveals shock symptoms of blood disorder as she films new series

A PLACE in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has revealed the shock symptoms she suffered following a blood disorder.

Laura, 42, who is currently filming the Channel 4 show abroad, took to her Instagram Story today with a painful snap.

In the image, the TV star showed her fans a flare-up of bruising on her legs, formed as a result of her ITP (immune thrombocytopenic purpura).

She wrote in the caption: “It’s ITP! Just a little boost this week. But you won’t see it under my dress for the shoot!”

But this isn’t the first time Laura has spoken out about her condition as, in 2022, she opened up about her battle with the same illness that killed her co-star’s sister.

“I have something called ITP, immune thrombocytopenia, which is a low number of platelets in my blood, it’s a fairly unknown disease,” she told the Daily Star at the time.

“It varies depending on what’s going on in my life, and stress often brings it out.”

ITP causes the body’s immune system to mistakenly attack and destroy platelets.

Symptoms of this health problem may include easy bruising, petechiae (small red or purple spots on the skin), nosebleeds, and bleeding gums.

In more severe cases, internal bleeding may also occur.

Previously, Laura refused to hide her bruises caused by ITP while filming A Place in the Sun.

At the time, she posted a montage of clips to her Instagram account and said: “What a great days filming something new in the sun.

“My legs are covered in bruises, but with ITP they often are, and I will never let that stop me from doing the things I love!”
