Japan announces world’s first green fuel

The EcoNews portal published an article highlighting Japan’s announcement of the world’s first green fuel. News.Az reprints the article.

Asia’s sustainable mobility market is striving to overtake America, and in some ways it is succeeding. We saw it with the “merger” of three legendary automakers, and we see it again today with the first-ever green fuel. Does it really have this color? Why do they call it that? Discover the engine that breaks hydrogen and electric vehicles in a new concept.

New Japanese engine to revolutionize the roads: goodbye to electric vehicles

In a surprising unconventional effort, Toyota plans to offer a new generation of thermal engines that can run on green fuels, such as hydrogen and bioethanol. Suzuki Motors, the Japanese automaker, said the technology, which it calls an “engine renaissance,” can go a long way in providing customers with a variety of fuel options.

Toyota’s new ICE engine family will be lighter, more compact and will demonstrate its efficiency by complementing the electric motors of hybrid vehicles. The motors will act as an accessory to the eCM, with the electric motor being the main powertrain (but not the only one, which makes the difference).

Through this approach, the automaker intends to create an efficient engine for the electrification era with improved efficiency, through the creation of cleaner engine functions, but with the feel and performance of traditional internal combustion engines ( remember that hydrogen is also an internal combustion system).

Japan focused on this new fuel: neither EV nor PHEV

Another equally unique feature of Toyota’s green fuel engines is the fact that they use hydrogen to power the car’s engine. The automaker has also focused on advancing hydrogen engine technology, with the Corolla Sport H2 Concept race car being used as a test for rapid improvements.

Specifically for Moto GP, the turbocharged inline 3-cylinder engine from the GR Yaris has been retained but with adjustments for hydrogen fuel which burns on average at a higher temperature and faster than gasoline.

Another notable collaboration between Toyota and Denso is the development of standardized fuel injectors capable of atomizing pressurized hydrogen gas into combustion chambers. Abnormal combustion is a major problem in hydrogen engines, and Toyota engine designs use heat-resistant components.

Toyota wants to dominate the market in 2050: the other fuel (not hydrogen) they are developing

In addition to hydrogen, the new Toyota engines will also be adaptable to bioethanol fuels. The company is involved in collaborations with several different counterparts that can promote the use of biofuels since vehicles already purchased can achieve carbon neutrality.

To achieve large-scale use of biofuels in emerging markets, Toyota offers biofuel-compatible cars in these markets and also ensures the necessary infrastructure to support the biofuel markets. National partners from Toyota, Subaru and Mazda also participate in Toyota’s “multi-lane workshop”.

The aim was to demonstrate the company’s attempts to design greener engines as part of the company’s preparation for new emission standards. Subaru emphasized its small, horizontally opposed piston engines, Mazda explained how its distinctive rotary engine was ready to move to electrification.

However, Toyota does not believe that BEVs should replace ICEs everywhere in the world, as customers and regions are different and need different powertrains. They said the company wants to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and believe green fuel engines are a good solution with BEVs and FCEVs.

This new engine revolutionizes hydrogen and electric vehicles, with all the possibilities that will now open up. The key is green fuel that you can now transport in your own vehicle. Why do it? Not only because you achieve greater savings, but also because you save polluting emissions into the atmosphere, thanks to the incentives that the IRS offers you in this case.
