Prophet Madungwe rejects killer Zivhu's $3,000 offer despite rent woes

Controversial cleric Prophet Talent Madungwe has rejected a US$3,000 offer from Killer Zivhu even though he is struggling to pay his rent.

In recent weeks, Madungwe has made headlines for not paying his rent. His landlady contacted the media, complaining that Madungwe had not paid his dues for four months. She revealed that she had given the prophet an eviction notice, but he was almost running away without clearing his debt.

Madungwe later released a video admitting he was experiencing financial difficulties. He said he did not go to heaven and had been struggling since September 2023. He also claimed God told him he would be tested, just as Jesus had also been in the Bible.

Madungwe then appealed to influential Zimbabweans and the public to give him money so he could clear his rent arrears.

The controversial pastor is counting down to his birthday, June 18. He mobilized people to donate money for his birthday celebrations.

Former Chivi South lawmaker Killer Zivhu intervened and gifted Madungwe US$3,000 for his birthday. However, he suffered from a complicated illness:

“Prophet on your birthday, I promise to give you 3000 USD, kuti mubetsereke ne mhuri yenyu, on one condition, mondiratidzawo The images of God sezvo muchigara muchivaona Mwari, this is not a joke Prophet, ndoziva kuti munogona kumatora chero nhasi usiku.”

Madungwe has since responded to the offer:

“Aiwa haaaa (Killer) Zivhu asks yenyu haikwanise kuitwa. We cannot take a picture of God because they are spiritual beings. Chingoblessai munhu wa Mwari does US$3000 for our anniversary.
