The release window for No More Room in Hell 2 is Halloween 2024, which means we can expect to see the game launch in October.

More than 10 years after the release of the first game, the developers announced the No More Room in Hell 2 Early Access release window during Summer Game Fest. The original game is free on Steam and is technically a mod for the source engine. No More Room in Hell 2 is launching in Early Access on Steam and will build heavily on the original game.

When is the No More Room in Hell 2 Early Access release window?

The No More Room in Hell 2 Early Access release window is scheduled for Halloween 2024. The developers confirmed this release during Summer Game Fest, showing off an intense gameplay trailer highlighting the permadeath and co-op systems with eight players.

No More Room in Hell 2 Gameplay Details

Building on the foundations of the first game, No More Room in Hell 2 is a cooperative zombie survival game, featuring a first-person camera perspective. As you try to survive with your friends, you’ll need to kill zombies with melee weapons and guns, all while keeping an eye on your limited resources. As an emergency responder, you play as one of eight survivors where you must survive, store and complete your mission.

You and your friends come across a huge map and you must try to find your friends amidst the chaos and zombies. The more you complete the map, the more you will earn and gain power. In this setting, your characters can die during races and if you do, they are dead for good, meaning you will lose everything you got.

There is only one map in No Room Left in Hell 2 Early Access and it is billed as “massive” and “replayable.” The first map available during Early Access is the Power Plant, which places you and your friends on the outskirts of a massive map in rural Pennsylvania. It seems that the map is so large that it is unlikely that you will be placed in the same place once during your playthrough. Although not confirmed, we could expect more maps to be added after the No More Room in Hell 2 Early Access release date.

The gameplay loop is simple, according to the game’s Steam page: “Locate cooperative allies, then work together to complete the final objective in the center of the map as the difficulty increases.” Gather weapons and equipment to survive the growing threat and move your team to the final powerhouse of the map.
