Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa starrer trailer Jatt and Juliet 3 was unveiled at a grand event in Mumbai on June 11, and it sent fans into a frenzy. The trailer launch also saw Diljit Dosanjh talking about the film’s journey. Building on the success of its recent projects, notably Amar Singh Chamkila and his ongoing world tour, Dosanjh revealed that the Jatt and Juliet the franchise hasn’t always been smooth sailing. In fact, he shared that he almost rejected the film in 2011 due to disagreements with the producer.

However, producer Darshan Grewal’s unconventional approach changed everything. At Tuesday’s press conference, Dosanjh said: “For the first time, when I was called to make Jatt and Juliette, I had a problem with the producer, Darshan Grewal. So I went to him to refuse the film, but when I went to his office, he gave me a blank check and asked me to put in the amount I wanted. I had never thought about it. So I took my manager outside to talk, and we decided we couldn’t say no. We then searched who charged the most in the industry, it was Gurdaas Mann sir, so I decided to enter the same amount. We quoted him this amount with TDS, so Darshan made us add Rs. 1 lakh more for the charges.

Furthermore, Diljit recalled that the producer went bankrupt when the film began production. He revealed, “I signed the film, went to Canada and Darshan went bankrupt. Then another producer came along, and when his funds started to run out, another producer came along. Three to four times, the franchise has experienced financial constraints. We wanted Neeru Bajwa on board and she was charging a lot, so we decided to lie to her that we were all getting Rs. 5 millions. She was paid more than all of us.

He added, “Without Darshan Grewal, this film would never have been made. Even after the film became a hit, Darshan came to me with a blank check and asked me to fill in the amount I wanted. In fact, he is the one who sets my standards in the industry.

A decade after the last film, Jatt and Juliet 3 wonderfully combines comforting nostalgia with the promise of a new story. Written and directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, the film seems to be a laugh riot with its fair share of heartbreaking moments. The stunning visuals, captured in picturesque locations across India and the UK, further enhance the viewing experience. Jaani’s music adds another layer of magic to the film.
