Matthew Judon: I’m just going to get ready to play

Patriots edge rusher Matthew Judon signaled he would report to Patriots minicamp when he said he’s “not don’t give money» to fines late last month and on Monday he was true to his word.

Judon participated in practice with the team and head coach Jerod Mayo said “it’s great to have Judon and his energy in the building.” Judon’s absence from the team this spring is reportedly tied to a desire to live up to his contract, as he is set to earn $6.5 million in base salary in the final year of his contract.

The Patriots altered Judon’s contract after a hold early in training camp last year and he was asked Tuesday on WZLX if he was considering the same thing this summer. Judon didn’t make it seem like it was planned.

“I’ll just get ready to play“, Judon said. “And you know, you don’t kind of – you just kind of keep throwing tantrums, tantrums, tantrums, and then you don’t go out and not doing what you’re supposed to do? It gets old real quick, you know I’m not really trying to do that I’m just trying to come here and play football, prepare for the upcoming season and. putting our defense and ourselves in a position where we can win the most games or be the most effective. So that’s what I’m really about right now. I’m not afraid to stick it out. sit down.. kind of protest.. because last year this thing was trash. agency sector. So I’m going to come here and play football.

Judon was limited to four games last season due to a torn biceps and a full return to health and fitness this fall would be a good way to set up another payday in 2025.
