Witness to Baba Siddique’s murder threatened by ‘Lawrence Bishnoi Gang’

One of the witnesses in the Baba Siddiqui murder case has received a threat call demanding Rs 5 crore. The caller is believed to be from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, police said. Based on a complaint, an FIR was registered at Khar police station.

The witness told the police that he had received the threatening call from an unknown person a few days ago, demanding Rs 5 crore. The caller threatened to kill him if he didn’t pay.

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch is conducting a massive search for the mastermind of the murder, Zeeshan Akhtar. As many as five police teams are looking for Akhtar, reports news website TOI. The weapons used in the murder are said to have come from Rajasthan. So far, five weapons have been seized and police are looking for a sixth weapon.

NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra, Mumbai on October 12. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder. The gang said that Baba Siddique was killed because of his close links with actor Salman Khan.

The crime branch is also pursuing a link with Nepal as they believe Zeeshan Akhtar may have fled to the neighboring country.

The Bishnoi gang has threatened Salman Khan several times and accused him of poaching a blackbuck in 1998. The blackbuck is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly asked Salman Khan to go to the temple of the Bishnoi community in Rajasthan and apologize for the murder.

In recent days, threats against Salman Khan’s life have increased. He is also asked to pay Rs 5 crore if he wants to stay alive.
