Heidelberg Materials will stop clinker production at the Añorga cement plant

Spain: Heidelberg Materials plans to stop clinker production at its plant in Añorga, near San Sebastián, and operate the site as a cement grinding plant. The company intends to take advantage of this change to focus on low-carbon cement products in Spain and southwest France. The clinker needed to supply the markets in northern Spain and southwest France will be produced at the Bilbao plant of Heidelberg Materials Spain. The closure of the Añorga clinker production line will begin once negotiations with plant personnel have been completed. The company said “socially acceptable solutions for all affected employees are being sought.”
