Love Island Australia fans are shocked after hearing about contestant Eilisha’s very surprising family connection with Miley Cyrus.

The 25-year-old support worker from Queensland has proven to be one of the most controversial contestants of the 2024 Nine season and has ruffled some feathers.

She was brutally dumped from the villa in Tuesday’s episode and cryptically said ‘f**k this, I’m going to Los Angeles’ as she left.

However, fans were shocked to discover the true meaning behind her words and discovered that she is the niece of Tish Cyrus’ new husband Dominic Purcell.

Her very surprising family connection to Tish’s singer Miley emerged when eagle-eyed fans noticed her last name on Instagram is ‘Purcell’.

Her mother is Australian actor Dominic’s sister, Marie-Thérèse, and Eilisha appears to be close to her uncle, even attending his wedding to Tish in August 2023.

Photos shared to Eilisha’s Instagram page showed her working with Miley, 31, and Tish, 57, while she was even part of the bridal party that day.

In one photo from the intimate family ceremony, Eilisha was seen flashing a big smile as she posed next to Miley in a very rare look on the wedding day.

In another shot, Eilisha posed arm in arm with Prison Break star Dominic as she gushed around him on his special day.

“Back to an amazing wedding celebrating love,” Eilisha captioned the carousel of wedding photos discreetly left on her Instagram page.

“My mermaid nieces,” Tish lovingly commented on the post, which also included a photo of the newlywed bride with Eilisha.

Fans were quick to share their shock over Eilisha’s very famous family connection and took to the comments section to post their reactions.

“Holy sh*t,” one shocked Aussie fan commented as the photos were shared.

“Does this mean Miley Cyrus is her step-cousin?” asked another.

In addition to Eilisha’s mother Marie-Thérèse, Dominic has three other siblings: Damian, Jaime and Patrick.

Dominic and Tish became Instagram official just months after she filed for divorce from country star Billy Ray Cyrus for the third time in April 2022 after 28 years of marriage.

They then got married in an intimate ceremony in Malibu, California, with a select guest list and some shared photos from the occasion.

The ceremony took place in the backyard of a luxurious Malibu mansion, with guests sitting poolside across from the pool.

Tish’s bridal party, including Eilisha, wore ice blue dresses, while Dominic’s groomsmen wore white button-ups to match the Australian actor.

Dominic’s four children – Joseph, Audrey and twins Lily-Rose and Augustus – who he shares with ex-wife Rebecca Williamson, were also at the wedding.

However, it was subsequently claimed that Noah ‘never dated Dominic’ and she was accused by family insiders of ‘fabricating’ the relationship to ‘paint herself as the victim’ in her ongoing feud with Tish.

Amid her famous family connections, Sydney-born Eilisha has risen to fame herself in recent weeks in the 2024 series Love Island Australia.

However, she divided fans during her time on the show and was branded a ‘mean girl’ by many fans.

She was then dumped from the Villa on Tuesday, after her partner Taylor opted to recouple with New South Wales content creator Em Miguel Leigh.

“The person I was obviously the most close to was Taylor, but he chose Em after they went on a date and I didn’t talk to him at all,” Eilisha explained in her exit interview.

“We were both chasing the same guy, but she was cunning and she won. Good girl, good for her.”

After causing a stir by saying she was heading to LA after her departure, Eilisha took to Instagram on Wednesday to reflect on her journey on the reality TV show.

Amid her famous family ties, Sydney-born Eilisha has risen to fame herself in recent weeks on the 2024 series of Love Island Australia.

“It’s been a crazy journey, but I’m so grateful that I got to be a part of this incredible opportunity with incredible people,” she wrote.

“I will never forget the memories I made this summer. As someone with ADHD, I am incredibly proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing this experience head-on.

‘A lot happens in a day and only 45 minutes of it is shown in the show, but I know I will remember every second of it.

“I haven’t fallen in love, which is disappointing, but the friendships I’ve made along the way make up for it.

‘Last but not least, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me on my journey and shown me love – it really means the world! I can’t wait to see what’s next.’
