Shocking rape incident: Three migrant workers arrested in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Three migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh, Chandu Chauhan, 24, Ajay Kumar, 25, and Mohd Arif, 35, all working as painters and wood polishers, were arrested by police. Madhura Nagar police for raping a Scheduled Tribe Lambada woman on the pretext of offering her work washing clothes at their rented flat in Madhura Nagar.
The suspect, who hails from Gorakhpur district in Uttar Pradesh, came to the city only a month ago. They were arrested while on the run, produced before the court and sent to judicial remand, police said.
On Monday evening, the 50-year-old woman, who works as a construction worker, was locked up by the suspect near Hi-tech City while she was on her way home. They offered her Rs 500 to wash their paint-stained clothes lying in their room and picked her up in their auto-rickshaw.
In the room they beat her with hands and a belt and raped her one after another. Hearing her cries for help and the sound of the suspect, a neighbor rushed to the room and rescued her. The women also offered her clothes because she was bruised and naked and alerted the police.
