Wayne Lineker – the brother of Match of the Day star Gary Lineker – has broken his silence after he was knocked unconscious by a thug while protecting a friend.

Wayne Lineker, 62, broke his silence on social media after being knocked unconscious by a thug.

The brother of Match of the Day star Gary Lineker has spoken out on social media after collapsing in the street following an attack by a thug at 4am on Wednesday on the party island Spanish. Shocking video footage shows Wayne, co-owner of various establishments in Ibiza, including the infamous O Beach Club in San Antonio, trying to hold his arm to defend himself.




The incident took place outside Eden Bar in San Antonio, moments after Wayne was seen arguing with a group of men who appeared to have harassed one of his friends. Wayne broke his social media silence following the incident to post a message for his son on Instagram.

Father-of-four Wayne released a video to celebrate his son Freddie’s 20th birthday. The video showed a younger Freddie playing with a hoop, with Wayne captioning the clip: “Sorry @freddie_lineker you won’t like me for this, but as a father it’s very special… Happy 20th birthday to my special handsome boy and superstar DJ…keep doing what you’re doing.

“Great things happen and are your credit without any help from me!! ‘Dad, I get it, I appreciate you wanting to help me but I have to do it myself.’ I’m so proud of you when you told me that I love you #boy.

Wayne was reportedly unconscious for at least six minutes after being knocked down by a thug on Wednesday morning. An 18-year-old witness said the two men began arguing after the thug and his friends began harassing Wayne’s girlfriend, believed to be in her 20s.

They continued: “It was horrible. It looked like he could have died at one point. Wayne fell to the ground and the man and his friends ran away. He was completely unconscious for at least 20 “He wasn’t talking much when he finally came back. I stayed to help him and the police came, but they didn’t stay long and didn’t really do much and left quickly.” , reports The Sun.

On Tuesday, the Ibiza club owner posted a video on his Instagram of himself and his friend in the center of the row, toasting each other with glasses of champagne. He captioned the snap: “Rabbit is back.” The socialite also shared a post wishing her son Freddie a happy birthday – as well as a number of other Instagram Stories.
