5 booths that caught our attention on the opening day of InfoComm 2024

Months of anticipation finally came to an end on Wednesday, June 12, with the opening of InfoComm 2024. While the show was flooded with professional AV enthusiasts and professionals, exhibitors brought their “game” with dazzling stands and innovative technology.

From LED screens to projection mapping to jaw-dropping performances, here are five booths (in no particular order) that stood out and that you should make an effort to see.

Another InfoComm in the wall

The year is 2032. I will be celebrating my 10th year of attending Pro AV shows and Samsung’s The Wall will always be one of the first booths to catch my eye. The wall’s MicroLED technology brings images and content to life with brilliant clarity, so much so that you may want to bring an umbrella when the water goes down. You can see it in the West Hall (1225).

Christie immerses guests and brings a new twist to art

Christie is definitely one of the stars of the series. On an exhibition space filled with eye-catching and beautifully spectacular LED screens, Christie used its projectors, servers and media players to bring visitors into the experience of its stand (W1024).

One of the pieces that stood out was Cathedral of Thieves, an intricate wood art collaboration comprised of thirteen layers of birch wood by Gabriel Schama and Limelight Studios, using Christie projectors to bring a work of art to life.

The Immersive Room is where guests can enter and be completely engulfed in an almost psychedelic lava pit or bubble room, which not only uses projection mapping powered by Christie’s Pandora’s Box to fully immerse its visitors , but also tracking that makes the content seem like people are moving. touch it and browse it.

An interesting note about this immersive room was that, like the wood art, it was a collaboration between several companies. This was a trend at the show, as Pro AV seems to work together on these projects to make everything bigger and better.

The video didn’t show a performance by the band Something Corporate, whose piano entirely wrapped in Christie MicroTiles LED was a sight to behold.

Epson announces new partnership with performance

Earlier in May, Cirque du Soleil named Epson its official projector partner. The two made the announcement official at InfoComm 2024, with a performance by one of the Cirque du Soleil members at the Epson booth (W1800). Pair impressive, contortionist performance with the powerful Epson EB-PQ2220B 20,000 lumens, 4K projector and you’ll stop many people in their tracks. Indoor LEDs from LG Business Solutions amaze

It was a fun display from LG Business Solutions, but don’t let that fool you. This is just one of the many interesting things you’ll find at their booth (W2125). The work is being called “new digital media art,” with its kinetic movement and vivid images creating a different type of LED experience.

This was the compact 1.9mm LSBC indoor LED with 1000 nits brightness in HDR. The QR code takes you to a page that claims “you can display vibrantly colored content that creates an impact on customers.” I would say that is exactly what happened.

Fujifilm becomes totally immersive

Fujifilm has partnered with Igloo, a UK-based immersive experiences company, to take InfoComm attendees on a journey to space, the high seas, the Vegas Strip or a mini rave. .. or all four.

Twelve FUJIFILM FP-Z8000 (FP-Z8000) projectors bring content to life. The snorkeling, rotating lens shifts and compact size, giving it the ability to hide in the aesthetic, help to cover the entire room and fully immerse guests on the floor, ceiling and all four walls. The Igloo Core Engine (ICE) helps bring impressive depth to scenes: looking down a New York street, you feel like you’re literally looking down the street. As Holly Mindel, business development consultant for Igloos Immersive Spaces, told me, you don’t look at a picture, you look at a picture.

I have to give a shout out to Panasonic Connect here. Not only do they have an immersive golf simulation powered by itself and Full Swing, but the company “brought” the LUMA Projection Arts Festival to Las Vegas.

The festival, which uses Panasonic Connect PT-RQ35K 4K projectors to transform historic buildings into canvases for artists, takes place in Binghamton, New York. The two-day festival was covered right here RCS, and Panasonic Connect recreated one of the historic buildings and an artist exhibition at their booth (W1500).
