NEET 2024 Latest News: The Supreme Court has delivered a verdict on the petitions filed regarding the NEET UG Result 2024. According to reports, the Supreme Court has suggested that the NEET UG 2024 results for 1,563 students who secured grace marks will be canceled and withdrawn. Under these conditions, a re-examination will be applicable to said candidates.

The re-examination for all 1,563 students will be held on June 23, 2024 and the results will be declared by June 30, 2024. The vacation bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta said during the hearing that the candidates would be informed . of their actual scores without compensatory marks. The results of those who do not wish to appear for the exams will be declared on the basis of actual marks, the court added.

According to the representatives, regarding the allegations of unfair means, a meeting was held on June 10, 11 and 12, 2024 and the committee formed recommended cancellation of scorecards of 1563 candidates. The re-examination will be carried out for these students.

Justice Sandeep Mehta said the two options were to either go for the re-examinations or consider that the non-normalized scores were contradictory and the results based on the compensation marks should be set aside as a whole.

Stating that students at 6 exam centers were facing wastage of time, advocate Sai Deepak requested the court to order reopening of the portal for candidates who did not approach the court seeking re-examination.

NEET UG Counseling 2024

In an earlier hearing held on June 11, the Supreme Court refused to stay the NEET 2024 counseling and sought the NTA’s response on the matter. The court noted that the sanctity of the exams had been affected. The NTA made this point and informed that 63 cases of unfair means were reported, out of which 23 students were excluded.
