Meet Forrest Ahrens, Interim Executive Director of YMCA Camp Menogyn

The YMCA Camp Menogyn held its annual pancake breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, May 26.

It was a beautiful late spring day as camp alumni, supporters and volunteers canoed or pontooned across West Bearskin Lake to enjoy pancakes, see old friends, meet new ones and raise funds. for the 102-year-old nonprofit organization. .

WTIP’s Chuck Olsen spoke with Forrest Ahrens, a longtime member of the Menogyn family who recently assumed the role of interim executive director following the recently announced retirement of longtime executive director Meghan Cosgrove .

Ahrens said the camp expects about 700 teens to participate in their wilderness programs this summer, which begins June 16.
