Why Ice Cube Offered Caitlin Clark $10 Million to Join Big 3

Why Ice Cube Offered Caitlin Clark Million to Join Big 3

Ice Cube made a big move to enroll Caitlin Clark in his 3-on-3 basketball league.

Ice Cube said Thursday he offered Clark a two-year contract for $10 million, with upside potential.

“We were going to do some cool stuff with merchandise, and there was talk of percentage ownership of the team,” Ice Cube told the “Dan Patrick Show.” “We thought its entry into the Big 3 would be such a big deal that all boats would rise and the league would benefit from the attention.”

Clark’s salary for the Indiana Fever is around $76,000 per season, although she earns significantly more in endorsements.

Clark would have played against men, mostly retired NBA players: “And see what she could do against that competition,” he said.

Ice Cube said the discussions didn’t go too far.

“We see that she’s focused on the WNBA and we haven’t really gotten a lot of commitment from that bid,” he said. “I think the agents kind of hated it.”

The Big 3 begins its seventh season this weekend.
