A TV presenter and actor has died aged 39, leaving his family ‘devastated’. Chauncy Glover, a familiar face on KCAL-CBS news, tragically passed away on Tuesday (November 5), with the cause of his untimely death currently unknown.

In a heartbreaking statement, his family expressed their deep sorrow, writing: “We, Sherry and Robert Glover, along with Chauncy’s beloved family, are devastated by the unimaginable loss of our beloved Chauncy.”

They remembered him fondly as more than just a family member, saying, “He was more than a son and brother – he was a beacon of light in our lives and a true hero to his community.”

The three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist recently started a new chapter in Los Angeles, joining KCAL-CBS as an anchor in September 2023 after leaving a successful stint at ABC13 in Houston.

His distinguished career also included a three-year stint at WDIV in Detroit and a two-year stint in Jacksonville, Florida.

Glover’s television journey began in Columbus, Georgia, as a reporter, after graduating from Troy University in Alabama with a journalism degree.

In 2014, he founded the Chauncey Glover Project, a year-long, impactful mentoring and preparation program focused on Black and Hispanic young men.

His family added, “Chauncy’s compassion and dedication to helping others, especially through the Chauncy Glover Project, has changed countless lives and inspired so many young men to pursue their dreams. His talent, warmth and vision left an impression on all who knew him. and the world is darker without him.”

The family expressed their sadness, writing, “While we grieve this profound loss, we are comforted by the outpouring of love and memories shared by those who knew Chauncy as the passionate, gifted soul that he was,” and asked for privacy , adding, “We please request privacy as we mourn and honor his incredible legacy. He was taken from us far too soon, but his impact will be felt forever.”

In addition to his other talents, Glover was a prolific actor, gracing the stage in numerous amateur plays.

Tributes are starting to pour in for the late star, with one writing: “I’m shocked and so sad to hear about the passing of Chauncy Glover. I’m heartbroken for his colleagues @kcalnews. You will be dearly missed.”

A second wrote: “To be young, gifted and black. Chauncey Glover, you will be greatly missed. Honey, when I tell you I was rooting for you. I can’t believe how heartbroken I feel right now. Praying for your family.”
