Laz Alonsa loses weight for season 4 of The Boys: fans shocked by the dramatic transformation

The “Mother’s Milk” actor lost weight and shaved off his iconic beard, leaving viewers confused.

Boys fans are in for a double dose of surprise when season 4 premieres this week.

Not only will Laz Alonso be back as Mother’s Milk, but he will sport a noticeably slimmer physique and a clean-shaven face. The dramatic transformation even led some to believe the character had been recast!

Alonso’s weight loss journey was no secret. The actor himself spoke about it on Instagram after a fan commented on his slimmer figure.

In a light-hearted response, Alonso admitted to indulging in “too much pizza” and needing to “cut back.” However, her approach to weight loss goes beyond cutting down on cheese slices.

The Boys star revealed he took a DNA test to personalize his nutrition plan. “The DNA test…revolutionized the way I view supplementation and health,” Alonso explained.

He now strives to give his body exactly what it needs, eliminating unnecessary stress from filtering out irrelevant nutrients.

This dedication to health aligns with Alonso’s long-held desire to regain his youthful physique. In 2017, he shared a Facebook post celebrating his progress with high-intensity interval training (HIIT), aiming to regain his “20s waistline.”

But the weight loss isn’t the only change fans have noticed. Mother’s Milk’s iconic facial hair is missing from season 4. The actor’s clean-shaven look has sparked a playful debate on social media.

While some fans joked about needing to get the goatee back or suffering from “breast milk deficiency” without facial hair, others simply complimented Alonso’s new look.

Whether you like the new, stripped-down Mother’s Milk or miss the classic bearded version, one thing’s for sure: Season 4 of The Boys promises to be an exciting one, with Laz Alonso returning in a transformed role. Watch the first three episodes on June 13, followed by weekly releases every Thursday until July 18.
