This week marked the deadline for the use of Dicamba, a herbicide popular with soybean farmers. This issue has been at the center of discussions for years, and some say farmers are caught in the crossfire.

A court withdrew the government’s approval earlier this year, leaving many producers wondering about their next steps. On the other hand, producers welcomed this decision. Illinois farmer Scott Trimble lost almost his entire crop a few years ago to Dicamba drift from a nearby soybean field. He says Prairie Farmer Since then, the battle has been difficult.

Many soybean farmers were afraid to use it for fear of similar situations, and others were wary of the government approval system.
