Woman faces drug charges during traffic stop in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – A woman was arrested for drug possession following a traffic stop Wednesday evening in Spartanburg County.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, the driver was stopped at Reidville Road and E Blackstock Road for a passenger side brake light that was out.

The driver, Jamie Anderson, informed the officer that she did not have a license and could not provide any information about the vehicle. She was taken into custody for driving while suspended.

Upon further inspection, officers discovered a small pink box containing a crystal-like substance on his person and a black case containing a quantity of white powder, along with straws and foil, inside the vehicle.

A bag containing a small amount of crystalline substance was later found on the floor of the vehicle. Officers then found a scale inside the center console.

Anderson told officers that she was in possession of methamphetamine in reference to the crystal substances and that it was because when she buys meth, her dealer normally does not have bags.

Officers later found a bag of powder on her once at the prison. Anderson said it was Fentanyl.

The powder found at the prison weighed approximately 0.62 grams.

Anderson was charged with driving under suspension, contraband to the Department of Corrections and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

She is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center on $97,000 bond.
