Demorest Council will meet Monday for a public hearing to amend the 2023 budget

Demorest will meet Monday, June 17 for a special called meeting to amend the 2023 budget. A public hearing will be held to allow citizens to comment on the proposed changes to the 2023 budget.

Budget changes are part of the audit process to ensure that all financial matters are completed and accounted for correctly. Once the amendments have been discussed, the Mayor and City Council will hold a separate meeting on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:00 p.m. to approve these amendments.

Once the changes are approved by the City Council, the 2023 audit will be completed and will be submitted to the state for review.

A copy of the proposed amended budget for 2023 is available for review at Demorest City Hall.

Both special called meetings will be held in the Demorest Municipal Conference Room, 250 Alabama Street, Demorest. The public hearing to modify the 2023 budget will take place on Monday, June 17 at 6:00 p.m. The second session during which the Municipal Council will approve the 2023 amending budget will take place on Wednesday June 26 at 6:00 p.m.
