Meeting with local authors on June 29

Celebrate local authors at the Round Rock Public Library’s Local Author Meet and Greet, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, June 29, on the first and second floors. Come meet local authors Dr. Amiyo Basu, Kim Hiles, Terrance B. McGee, J. Ryan Sommers, Lisette Varela and Lorraine Zajac.

Children’s authors will have the opportunity to read an excerpt from one of their books at the end of family story time, which runs from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in the second floor program space .

Dr Amiyo Basu

Dr Amiyo Basu is a versatile talent in engineering, poetry, art and music. His collections of poetry, including From dawn to dusk, Beyond the blue horizonAnd The secret of nature explore themes of nature and human craftsmanship. His creations blend culture, travel, art and science, showcasing the nuances of nature and the artistic talent of man. Professionally, he is an engineer focused on renewable energy and climate change. His work integrates cultural, artistic and scientific elements, emphasizing environmental sustainability. This fusion of science and art defines his unique approach to both fields.

Kim Hiles

Kim Hiles is the author of four books. She enjoys writing about her journey of self-discovery and healing. His first collection of poetry, The moments to come, has just been published by Austin MacAuley Publishers. His second collection of poetry comes out on July 19.

Terrance B. McGee

Terrance B. McGee, founder of Personal Definition LLC, an education, motivation, media and marketing consulting firm. My mission is to capture the image of inspiration and stimulate the personal growth of humanity. My vision is to personify human virtues through the enhancement of self-discovery. Personal definition presents to you a noble ideal of distinction with keen enthusiasm, ambition, cause and purpose. We promote self-love and support those seeking to be their authentic selves, with a focus on wellness and self-care, while also managing stress and anxiety.

J.Ryan Sommers

J.Ryan Sommers is an English teacher and author of two novels. He has published works in numerous literary journals, notably Poetic Press, so to speak, Helen Literary Magazine, Storyfile Magazine, Menda City Press, The Paragon Review, Here Comes EveryoneAnd Rotten Tomatoes. He lives with his wife, two children and their puggle in Round Rock, Texas. He is usually found wandering the aisles of the public library.

Lisette Varela

Lisette Varela loves spending time with her family and her dog Marley. She teaches English (ESL) to adults who have recently immigrated to the United States. Lisette loves cooking and eating new dishes from around the world. She also enjoys traveling and reading.

Lorraine Zajac

Lorraine Zajac is the proud author of Logan’s 3D printed surprise and a dynamic STEM educator passionate about inspiring young minds. Through her series of children’s books, she seeks to spread the innovative world of 3D modeling and 3D printing. With over a decade of homeschooling experience and a passion sparked by her children’s interest in 3D printing, Lorraine has grown from a stay-at-home mom to a passionate education advocate STEM. Its mission extends beyond teaching; it aims to provide underrepresented communities with access to cutting-edge technology and foster a love of learning. Its vision is to cultivate the next generation of innovators and thinkers, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to change the world.
