Pitt Panthers reveal new locker room improvements

PITTSBURGH โ€” The Pitt Panthers continue to grow their football program in a variety of ways, including constantly improving facilities where possible.

They revealed new improvements to the locker room at their practice facility at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side in a new video on their Twitter.

The video shows beautiful blue lighting that highlights the entrance to the locker room, with the Panthers symbol and Pitt script with the Nike and ACC logos next to it.

Inside the locker room, each player has their own space, with their name, hometown and a photo of them wearing their Pitt jersey on top. The top also flips up and when a player removes it, their shoulder pads are ready to go.

It also has a royal blue and black seat and to the left of this are two sliding trays. There’s one at the bottom, which holds their cleats and a pair of gloves, with “Hail to Pitt” printed on them. There’s also one on the side that has a water bottle and space for their sneakers to practice on.

Players can also lower the top of their chair and store other necessary items inside, giving players another option for storing their belongings. They can also raise the seat and store their belongings there.

Each player also has a smaller individual locker with their number and unlock code, to keep their keys, watches and more safe.

New transfer additions also have their own spots, including defensive linemen Chief Borders from Nebraska and Nick James from Indiana, as well as Oregon State tight end Jake Overman, as well as San Diego State’s Raphael “Poppi” Williams Jr. wide receivers. and Censere Lee of Western Carolina.

Pitt will begin their official summer camp around late July, early August, where they will prepare day by day for the start of the 2024 season, as they face Kent State at home on April 31.
