Two women accused by Prince George RCMP of driving the same vehicle while impaired

It is alleged that a driver hit a parked car and then switched places with a passenger who did it again

Two women are facing charges following an incident in which they allegedly switched places in the front seat of a vehicle after colliding and then struck the same car again, as well as a nearby pedestrian.

Prince George RCMP officers were called around midnight on Tuesday after a vehicle struck a car parked in a parking lot on the 1600 block of Central Street East, just south of 15th Avenue.

Witnesses told police that the two vehicles were connected at the bumpers.

When the current driver attempted to leave the parking lot, she ended up crashing into the same parked car as the original driver and a witness who was near the parked vehicle.

The two women were each arrested on suspicion of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and taken to the detachment to collect breath samples.

Both women registered above the legal limit, police say. They were given a 24-hour driving ban, as well as a 90-day administrative driving ban and will appear in court at a future date.

No injuries have been reported.

The case is under investigation.
