Rockstar co-founder’s six-year-old claim that he was ‘grateful’ he didn’t launch GTA 6 during Trump’s presidency is outdated

Comments from former GTA 6 developer and Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser have resurfaced as proof of how much the world can change during increasingly longer game development windows.

In 2018, Houser said GQ that he was “grateful” for that GTA6 did not release during Donald Trump’s presidency: “It’s really unclear what we would do with it, let alone how angry people would get by whatever we did,” he said. “Both intense liberal progression and intense conservatism are both very militant and very angry. It’s scary, but also strange, and yet they both seem to veer toward the absurd at times. It’s difficult to satirize for those reasons. You see, it clearly goes beyond satire. It would be out of date in two minutes, everything changes so quickly.”
