Therapist stopped Draymond Green from exploding on Warriors locker room members to avoid NBA fines

Therapist stopped Draymond Green from exploding on Warriors locker room members to avoid NBA fines

For Draymond, the 2023-24 season was an unhappy year in his career. It may only be unfortunate for Draymond Green, but his actions were rightfully taken into account as soon as the league ended. Dray received the most technical fouls of his career this season, 17, and was also suspended for the same number of games. In December, Green hit Jusuf Nurkic in the head for which he was banned for 12 games. It wasn’t his first time since he had to miss a crucial game last year in the playoffs against the Kings when he stepped on Sabonis’ chest.

Given his history, the league required him to undergo mandatory counseling. No one would expect Green to attend such meetings. However, in the end, Dray did a pretty good job of controlling himself. The therapist, on the other hand, might have saved some of his teammates and assistant coaches from getting yelled at. Green hardly agrees with fouls and that’s one of the main reasons why referees don’t like him.

“I’m like, ‘Hey, I keep getting suspended. I really need to master this. And he says, “All right, great… He says, “What’s your plan? “. And I’m like, “Well, I’m not going to talk to the refs at all”… I’m like, “Well, maybe I can find someone on our sideline and then blow up if I need to , just getting my words right.’. It’s like, ‘Yeah, the camera’s going to turn on you and the whole world is going to think you’re losing your mind.’Green said on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Although he found a less problematic solution to his arguing problems, it wouldn’t have gone down so well with his teammates. Regardless, in the second half of the season, Green did a great job controlling himself on the court. However, the Warriors did not last long, missing the playoffs for the second time in the last four years. On the other hand, Green’s frustration manifested itself off the field.

Draymond Green isn’t bothered by anything on the field

We all know about Dray’s altercations with referees and players, and even his arguments with his teammates. The list goes on. But one of the things that stands out is his confidence. Regardless of the consequences, Green would not back down from an argument or any sort of altercation. As a veteran, he plays the role of leader on the field. He must do it, especially for the well-being of the youngest on the list.

On the field, Dray showed great passion and intensity every night. Even though things got worse several times, Warriors know exactly why 23 is so valuable to them. Despite the many controversies surrounding Dray, he played his role wisely on the field. Green’s energy on the defensive end is unmatched. Paired with his offensive IQ, Green represents one of the best role players on any team.

The upcoming season will feature a completely different Warrior team. There is a good chance Thompson will not be part of the team, whose replacements would be the youngest. Green and Steph will have a lot of time mentoring these youngsters as they try to get back into the title race. Do you think the Warriors will be a better team next season? Let us know in the comments.
